I am originally from Abilene, Texas, but spent most of my childhood in the western states of New Mexico, Utah, and California. I was raised learning the Word of God and accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was nine years of age. My family later returned to Texas. As an adult, I moved back to Abilene with my husband and daughters. The Lord has since grown our family with the addition of husbands for our daughters and five grandchildren. God led me to work in multiple ministries once in Abilene, including Cornerstone in 2004. My husband and I attend services at Christ’s Church of Abilene and have found a sweet family there. God has given me a gift for working with children and He has placed me at Cornerstone for this time! Teaching children about the love of Jesus and the importance of God’s Word is the greatest blessing there is (other than salvation). It is such a privilege to watch children “grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”. Cornerstone provides such a God-centered, Bible-based education. It is an honor to be a part of God’s plan here at our school.
I was born and raised in upstate New York where there are hills, trees, and ten months of winter. I married an Air Force man, Jeffrey Cooper, and I followed him to the ends of the earth (Iceland, Germany, and Egypt included). We have two daughters who have blessed us with five grandchildren. They are the joy of our lives! We have lived in Abilene for twenty-one years now. I tell people that it is not the weather or the scenery that has kept us in Abilene—it is the people! I even moved my parents here to look after them. Jeffrey and I are active members of Ridgemont Baptist Church. I just retired from working as a registered nurse at Hendrick Hospital on the Mother Care Unit. My greatest joy is to teach children that God made them, has a purpose for their lives, and loves them very much!
